For those who attend live music gigs and dances at places such as the Gully, Daveys, Lt Maria's etc you may know of Janice. She loves 1950's style rock 'n' roll and rockabilly music and dancing. Last saturday night, she celebrated her birthday with a 1950's rock 'n' roll theme night and the Atomic Hi Tones provided live music for dancing. For those who attended the party, it was a good night of celebration and dancing. For me especially, I just love the birthday "circle" dance which is very common in the Melbourne swing circle but doesn't seem to have the same appeal amongst rockers, unfortunately.

I have shot a video of this dance to share with you and hopefully, in time, we will get to have more birthday "circle" dances in our rock 'n' roll birthday parties. It's a fun concept and gets lots of people involved even amongst those family members and friends who dont' dance rock 'n' roll.

Happy birthday, Janice!
