Toop & Toop Rock n Roll Festival September 2011

From the 16th to the 18th of September South Australia's Victor Harbour will rock once again rock to the sounds of 50's rock and roll and rockabilly bands of the Toop & Toop Rock and Roll Festival.

If dancing is your thing, with over a dozen bands performing at many different venues over the weekend, there will be plenty to keep you entertained. There will also be classic car, hotrod and bikes on show as well as a car cruise on the Saturday.

Bands performing on the weekend are:

Rave On: If you’re passionate about 50’s and 60’s music, you’ll be in jukebox heaven listening to the sounds of this truly authentic rock ‘n’ roll band.

Wild Ones: Remember what great Rock ‘n’ Roll sounds like? The multi-talented guys from The Wild Ones have been playing it the way it should be for over 20 years and between them have tons of experience in the Adelaide music scene.

Blue Comets: The Blue Comets is a high energy four piece rock and roll swing band with an infectious beat.

The Belvederes:One of the younger Rock & Roll cover bands to hit the Adelaide music scene was established back in 2005 featuring some of Adelaide’s best rock & roll, rockabilly and swing musicians. This band suits all generations and take you back to an era that everyone can enjoy!

The Lincolns: Adelaide based Rockabilly and 50's Rock n Roll band - Influences Carl Perkins, Elvis, Ricky Nelson, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Cliff Richard

Rip It Up: Rip It Up brings the past into the present with a brand of 50’s and 60’s rock n roll with splashes of swing, that still has the capacity to compel an audience to move and groove.

Get Back: Adelaide based rock ‘n’ roll band who re-live the great sounds and fun times of the 50’s and 60’s era. From slow cheek to cheek hits, to full-on rock ‘n’ roll, they are all there.

Jump n Jive (SA): Formed in 1999 the band consists of five members featuring male and female vocals, guitar, bass and drums.

Satellites: Wild, cool & crazy, an enthusiastic bunch of talented musicians and songwriters dedicated to REAL rock music.

Silverados: Adelaide based rockabilly band… five guys strongly influenced by some of the traditional early 50's American rockabilly artists

Suns of Sun: Adelaide’s longest surviving rockabilly band was formed in the early nineties to celebrate the unique, stripped-back roots of rock ‘n’ roll produced in the now famous SUN studios in the early 1950’s in Memphis, Tennessee.

Re: Toop & Toop Rock n Roll Festival September 2011

We're thinking of going here, but would like a bit of feed back as it's a long way to drive.
Has anyone been before? The cars and stuff are interesting, but are secondary to the music. I understand how stuff on this medium can be badly misinterpreted so PM's would be welcome if you wish to remaim anonymous.

I have to say that their web site looks pretty cool.

Disregard the above post by me. I had a serious seniors moment and discovered last night that CoolCats are having a dance that Saturday night.

    Although, there's always next year.
